Today I had almost met my match on the battle field. A young Turk named Suhrab had challenged me to single combat. I was stunned to find myself on the ground about to be beheaded by a young warrior like him. Thankfully I was able to decieve him. I had told him that it's against Persian custom to take a foeman's head the first time his back is on the ground. I told him that you must throw him to the ground twice before you can behead the foe. After letting me go he turned toward the plain and pursued an antelope that crossed his path. Tomorrow I will surely kill this Turk, Suhrab.
